| The Patriot Class were 3-cylinder express passenger locomotives with cylinders which had an 18" diameter bore and a 26" stroke. Three brand new cylinders will need to be made. The traditional method of construction is casting the cylinders from wooden patterns. The LMS-Patriot Project is investigating all fabriction methods and discussions with pattern makers and foundaries have already taken place. |
