Cylinders

The Patriot Class were 3-cylinder express passenger locomotives with an 18" diameter bore and a 26" stroke. Three brand new cylinders will need to be made. The traditional method of construction is casting the cylinders from wooden patterns. The LMS Patriot Project is investigating all fabriction methods and discussions with pattern makers and foundaries have already taken place.
