Green Light for the LMS Patriot Project - August 2007
David Bradshaw, founder of the LMS Patriot Project announced overwhelming support for the project. A number of notable figures in the world of Steam expressed their support for the Patriot new build. These included former Steam Railway Editor Tony Streeter, railway photographers Dick Blenkinsop and Neville Wellings, railway artists Jonathan Clay, Barry Freeman GRA and Philip D. Hawkins FGRA, Llangollen Railway Chief Engineer Dave Owen, Bob Essery co-author of 'The Claughton and Patriot 4-6-0s', and LMS author, historian and former Derby draughtsman, Fred James.
It was announced that a Limited Company and Charitable Trust will be set up.
