Locomotive Frame Assembly

Work continues on the construction of The Unknown Warrior at number of locations.

Following the report in the last Warrior we have seen work re-started at Llangollen Railway Engineering, but not at the speed we had hoped. At least progress is being made.

We continue to work with Llangollen Engineering to establish a work schedule for the completion of the locomotive chassis.

Midlands Model Engeering Exhibition, Leamington Spa

The LMS Patriot New Build Project will have its sales stall open throughout this event.

The venue is Warwickshire Event Centre, The Fosse, Fosse Way,   Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV31 1XN.

There is a shuttle bus service to & from Leamington Spa Railway Station.

Please note show closes at 17.00 from Thursday to Saturday.

Statfold Barn Railway Open day, Tamworth, Staffs

The LMS Patriot New Build Project will have its sales stall open at Statfold Barn, Nr Tamworth throughout this event.

Please note those wishing to attend need to book in advance as there is no admission to non ticket holders on the day.

Severn Valley Railway Autumn Gala - Kidderminster Railway Station

The LMS Patriot New Build Project will have its sales stall open at this Gala on Kidderminster Railway Station (SVR) throughout these four days.

Wigan Model Railway Exhibition, Robin Park Leisure Centre, Wigan

The LMS Patriot New Build Project will have its sales stall open at this exhibition throughout this weekend.

This show organised by the Wigan Finescale Railway Modellers takes place at The Robin Park Leisure Centre, Loire Drive, Wigan.

Please note show closes at 17.30 on the Saturday

Leyland Model Railway Exhibition, Leyland, Lancs

Inner Firebox Trial Fitted

On Thursday 26th July the inner firebox was trial fitted to the outer wrapper at West Shed, Ripley, the two parts lined up perfectly – great testament to the quality of work HBSS are producing for the Project.

'The Unknown Warrior' Coal Models

We have in our shop the last few 00 gauge coal models for sale.

Unfortunately each has suffered minor damage and as such has been reduced in price from £25.00 to £15.00.

VIEW THE BOILER THIS WEEKEND

If you would like to view the latest progress of The Unknown Warrior's boiler there is a 'Patrons and Friends of the Duchess Weekend' taking place at the West Shed, Ripley on 14th and 15th July, where you can also see the Duchess, Standard 4MT No. 80080, 'Princess Margaret Rose' and Royal Saloon 45000 on display outside the shed.

Guided tours of the West Shed are being undertaken by members of the PRCLT so that you can get a close-up view of the boiler. Latest work comprises drilling of the side and crown stays with the copper firebox awaiting trial fitting, this is currently situated behind the boiler waiting to go in.
