Members will currently be receiving the latest issue of our newsletter The Warrior . This shows that an encouraging amount of work has been possible at Crewe Heritage Centre in the last months, thanks to our volunteers. Meanwhile the first quote to complete the locomotive has now been received and two more are expected shortly. All being well, we hope to decide where the final build will go (including consideration of completing it ourselves) at the next Board meeting , which is at the end of April.

We have been investigating the purchase of a support coach to run with The Unknown Warrior and have been making some low level enquiries over the last couple of years. A main line registered BR Mk1 BSK has now become available. We have registered an interest and expect to be conducting an inspection soon.

A dialogue has started with Riley and Son Engineering, and tender responses are still awaited from The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust and Railway Forgings and Castings. However Tyseley Locomotive Works recently informed the project that they will not tender for the contract for workload reasons.
In the meantime work continues at Crewe Heritage Centre on the engine's lubrication pipework, led by Nigel Day.
The video was shot by Arthur Sikes (son of Warrior editor, Pete Sikes) who is in his first year of a Film Technology Production course at Nottingham Trent University. He asked if he could get some exprience by filming the Saturday of the event and the unveiling of the new crest by Simon Weston. Hope you enjoy it.
