New Chairman Sought for the LMS-Patriot Company as Colin Hall Steps Down

Colin Hall, Chairman of the LMS-Patriot Company, announced in the August 'Warrior' Members' magazine his decision to step down from the role.

Colin has been Chairman of the LMS-Patriot Company since November 2019.

Colin explained the reason behind his decision; "I believe that the responsibilities and practicalities of the Chairman's role are no longer compatible not only with my changed family position circumstances but also with my own physical and mental well-being. It would be easy for me to pray in aid of my family circumstances - over the last two years my close family situation has changed out of all recognition - but the truth is that this is all about my health and energy as a volunteer, neither of which are what they were".

The Board would like to thank Colin Hall for his excellent leadership after taking on the voluntary role as Chairman during a difficult time for the project since 2019. Colin's railway management experience, enthusiasm and humour has guided the project to better times where we now see re-assembly of 'The Unknown Warrior' actively taking place.  

The Board is now embarking on a disciplined process to find a successor and has put in place sufficient 'caretaker' arrangements for the time it takes to do that. John Hastings-Thomson, the current Deputy Chairman will lead the Board until a new Chairman is appointed. David Tuffin, Director of Hazard and Risk Management has taken on the responsibility of leading the process to appoint a new Chairman.

Completion of 5551 'The Unknown Warrior' remains on course with the construction of the new boiler at Heritage Boiler Steam Services and the assembly of the frames at Tyseley Loco Works. The Board wants to hear from and talk to anyone who might be interested in joining the LMS-Patriot Company Board and possibly taking on the role of Chairman.
