Engineering Update - July 2023

Encouraging progress on The Unknown Warrior has been made in the period since the last report.

Here is our progress report for June 2023.

Engineering

The chassis frame rectification work referred to in the latest Warrior magazine was completed this month at West Shed. This involved around 100 individual items of work, all of which have been documented for recording in our quality management system.

Illustrated Talk to Coventry RCTS Branch

Colin Hall LMS-Patriot Project Chair will give a talk to the Coventry RCTS Branch at Cheylesmore Community Centre,
Arundel/Poitiers Road, Coventry, West Midlands, CV3 5JX

Illustrated talk to the Nottingham RCTS Branch

John Hastings-Thomson will give an illustrated talk on the project to members of the RCTS Nottingham Branch at their afternoon meeting.  

Illustrated talk to Carnforth RCTS Branch (POSTPONED)

Colin Hall Chairman of the LMS-Patriot Project will give an illustrated talk on the current status of the Project to Carnforth RCTS branch members at their  evening meeting

POSTPONED to 3rd April 2024 (Rail Strike) 

LMS Patriot Project AGM, Kidderminster, Worcestershire

This meeting will be held at Kidderminster Railway Museum to the right of Kidderminster (SVR) Railway Station concourse. The Sales stall will be open before and throughout this event. Members only.

Members Monthly Bulletin May 2023

We expect to mail the latest issue of Warrior 57 on Monday 5th June. This Bulletin updates on events since the magazine went to press.

Finance  

Here is the latest on our periphery income streams; plus, a Treasurer’s timely bonus announcement.

Amazon Smile: We have now received the final Amazon Prime donation amounting to £56.63. Thank you to all the smilers who used prime in the past.

Easyfundraising: The sum of £50.21 was received this month representing the donation from them off the back of members purchases.

Recycle for charity:  We received £6.25 for recycled ink cartridges in April. Although this is pretty small, it’s nonetheless welcome. The total raised for us so far amounts to £3260.91.

Members's Monthly Bulletin April 2023

Here is our progress report for April 2023.

 Engineering

 Following completion of testing reported in the March Bulletin the hornguides and now the brake hanger brackets have been temporarily refitted to the frames using volunteers. 

Preparation for the main frame rectification work has been completed, with metal ‘bullets’ produced and inserted in the frame holes where needed.  The rectification work itself did not happen this month as intended, because of key staff availability problems.
