Boiler Update

The foundation ring has now been riveted to the inner firebox at LNWR Heritage at Crewe. This is the final job that LNWR has undertaken on the new Patriot Boiler before it moves to a new contractor.

Contracts were signed with our new boiler contractor on 10th November, and further details will be announced soon.

Ilustrated Talk on The LMS Patriot New Build Project at Derby

This illustrated talk takes place at St Mary’s Church Hall, Darley Lane, Derby  DE1 3AX for The Derbyshire Archaeological Society.

Visitors and non members very welcome.

The LMS Patriot New Build Project will have its sales stall open throughout this exhibition. Please note show closes at 16.30 on Sunday.

It is being held at the Costello Athetics Stadium, Analaby Park Road North, Boothferry Road, Hull, HU4 6XY.

London Model Enginnering Exhibition, Alexandra Palace, London

The LMS Patroit New Build project will have its sales stand at this exhibition throughout the 3 days of opening. Please note show closes at 17.00 on Friday and Saturday.

Illustrated Talk at RCTS Surrey Branch, Woking, Surrey

This talk will take place at the Woking United Reformed Church, White Rose Lane, Woking, GU22 7HA.

Raising the pressure!

You will all be aware we received a setback when LNWR Heritage decided to end all sub-contract work meaning they would not be completing the construction of the boiler for The Unknown Warrior. At present we are working hard to find a new supplier but cannot say exactly when this will be, but it is likely be known in the next couple of months, therefore we need to ensure we have the funds available when the construction restarts. For that reason, we are launching our Raising the Pressure! appeal for funds dedicated to the completion of the boiler.

Board Recruitment - LMS-Patriot Company

We continue to urgently seek new individuals to strengthen the Board of Trustees for the Charity.  
 
In the last issue of 'The Warrior' we introduced our new Company Secretary Iain Gould. However, John Hastings-Thomson continues as Chairman only in an acting capacity; and our Engineering team requires further strengthening.

Engineering Update - November 2025

Good progress continues to be made with the engine build. Importantly we have witnessed a good degree of continuity of work with multiple tasks ongoing.

The rear cylinder covers have been cast and have passed their testing. Machining of the covers is currently in progress.
