Last year I wrote an end of year update and thought it would be a good idea if I repeated the exercise and demonstrated progress both from an engineering and fund raising perspective so far this year.
The LMS Patriot New Build Project will have its sales stall open throughout this Gala in the Education Centre over the rear of the workshops at Ropley Railway Station.
This talk which has been organised by the Croydon Branch of the MHRPS and takes place at the West Croydon Bapist Church, Whitehouse Road, West Croydon, CRO 2JH. The talk has been updated since my first talk on the project in 2012.
The first livery to be carried by new build 'Patriot', 'The Unknown Warrior', was announced at the 8th Annual General Meeting of the LMS-Patriot Company on 12th November. We are delighted to announce that this will be LMS Crimson Lake.
The livery was chosen by Members of the Project who were each entitled to one vote. The total number of votes for Crimson Lake was 378 - a clear and decisive margin of 248 votes to second place BR express passenger Green which received 130 votes. LMS lined black received 99 votes and BR lined black received 67 votes.

Freightliner has named class 66 diesel locomotive no. 66418 "PATRIOT - IN MEMORY OF FALLEN RAILWAY EMPLOYEES" in a private ceremony at their Crewe Basford Hall depot on Armistice Day, 11th November 2016. The 66 was named in association with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity - The National Charity of the British Army, and carries a plaque below the nameplate in recognition of this.
The LMS-Patriot Project took an important step forward in early December with its transfer of the The Unknown Warrior locomotive chassis to its new assembly base at Tyseley Locomotive Works, Birmingham.
